Description

This was a rare opportunity to own a particularly fine, very low mileage Mercedes-Benz 300SL. While these cars pop up at nearly every big auction, in most cases they have been restored to look great and destined to be a static centerpiece in a collection. Completely sorting one out to run and perform as it did over fifty years ago is a far greater challenge.

This car received a total professional restoration by a noted SL specialist and was then thoroughly sorted out by our shop, which focuses on preparing cars for long-distance driving events. When chosen for the restoration, it had less than 12,000 miles, its original factory hardtop and desirable disc brakes. The chassis has absolutely no past accident damage. The job included complete suspension & drivetrain restoration along with show-quality deep black paint and a complete new interior. Of course, we have its tool set and owner's books, and convertible top. Now with just under 21,000 miles, the car has entered and finished several Colorado Grand events with no breakdowns or issues—ample testament to its level of preparation. It has been kept in national-level concours presentation, is mechanically flawless and could complete a thousand-mile tour anywhere in the world tomorrow.
