Description

This 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso is one of 351 cars produced between 1963-1964. It was a Pininfarina design and was bodied by Carrozzeria Scaglietti. The Lusso (Italian for luxury) was designed as a GT car to fill a void between the very sporty 250 SWB and the very luxurious 250 GTE 2+2. It combined great performance with great comfort and plenty of interior space. For comparison the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is a modern day 250 GT Lusso with a front mounted V12 with a big cabin and grand touring intentions. With its 3.0L Colombo V12 it was very fast at the time with a 7,500 redline but had all of the creature comforts of a 250 GTE. Being as fast and as comfortable as it was, it attracted some very famous buyers like Steve McQueen and Eric Clapton.

The Lusso marked the end of the 250 series of cars and paved the way for the new 275. This particular car is a wonderful example and is a very original car. Our customer purchased the car a few years ago and arrived in excellent condition. We performed an assortment of mechanical work to make sure it ran like new!
