Very original Mercedes-Benz classic 190SL in for refresh and paint restoration

Our customer has owned this very early and quite original 1955 190 SL for over 25 years. The car had been in extended storage for many years. We began by restoring the fuel, brake, cooling & heating systems. As we moved along and got to know this car, we marveled at the original paint. Our expert paint technicians were able to preserve it as we polished and restored it to a gleaming shine. We also replaced the red carpets with a new set and did a simple refresh on the whole interior.

The 190 SL when it was new, opened a new market for people who couldn't afford the 300 SL. It offered almost all of the features you got on the big car being including the styling, fully independent suspension and small details found throughout the vehicle. It shared its frame with the popular 180 and was powered by a 1.9L Inline four engine paired to a 4 speed manual gearbox.
