Vehicle Details
We here at Farland Classics are known for seeking out unusual, exceptional and noteworthy European classic and collectible cars. We have presented our Ferrari, Maserati and Gullwing restorations at Cavallino, Pebble Beach and Amelia Island—and received awards at each. So, naturally we were selected to offer this fabulously restored late-production Amphicar! Owned by the consignor’s family for nearly forty years, it was painstakingly restored to be one of the best and it’s fresh and ready to go!
All of the typical full-restoration boxes were checked, with engine, suspension, brakes, drivetrain & electrics all refurbished. The solid hull was stripped to metal and refinished in this beautiful aqua green, with an all-new matching two-tone interior and new convertible top. The engine has been upgraded with fuel injection and numerous other new technologies have been added, like a marine band radio for when you’re out of sight of land, modern sound system, improved cooling with supplemental fans, upgraded alternator and nice touches like the finned aluminum valve cover.
It has all its original hubcaps and other trim, the original owner’s book and even a bilge pump, flotation cushions, fire extinguisher and emergency paddle to comply with Coast Guard regulations! Our shop has just serviced the car, tuned the injection system and scoured the fuel tank & lines. The car runs & drives great! (Read more about Amphicar history and this particular one’s story in our blog)
View our photo file for pictures of it diving in and cruising around a local lake, so you can see the propeller system is in working order as well. Amphicars have appreciated dramatically in recent years, bringing many out of storage and into restoration, but this one is ALL DONE and you can terrify your family with it this summer!
* The model name refers to 7 knots on water and 70 mph on land.

If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see ‘where the magic happens.’ If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
