Vehicle Details

SOLD – A lot of the Series III V12 XKEs were 2+2 coupes, and most of those had automatic transmissions, but built on the exact same chassis were convertible roadsters—most also with automatics—but some had 4-speeds. This car started out in life as one of the 4-speed 2+2s, but following an accident years ago, the salvaged car was converted into a roadster! There used to be kits available with parts and directions to do these conversions (this car was done over a decade ago). This converted roadster with manual 4-speed and chrome wire wheels is a great, affordable way to enjoy a V12 convertible!

One of Denver’s best-known Jaguar restoration shops worked on the conversion and you would be hard-pressed to tell it didn’t leave Coventry as a roadster. Having access to original Jaguar parts, a correct Series III top frame and other trim parts made the job even more authentic than many of the other 2+2-into-a-roadster conversions that have been done around the country over the years. The 5-liter overhead-cam V12 is smooth and powerful, with an updated cooling system and other recent service work. The car has its factory A/C and power steering, full leather upholstery and a beautiful finish in traditional Claret Red. No, it’s not a car to take to a Jaguar National concours, but hardly anyone else will know you didn’t buy one of the $80,000 originals! Cars & Coffee, here we come!
