This custom build was not some amateur backyard 'stuff-a-V8-into-an-old-MG' shade tree project. The bodywork was carefully modified to accommodate the new engine, headers, heavier drivetrain and wider wheels, but done so subtly that the car still looks stock. It has a Rover (Buick) aluminum V8 that has been professionally blueprinted and uprated for increased power from its now-308 cubic inches.

The car has a T5 5-speed transmission with appropriate ratios for searing acceleration and comfortable cruising on the highway, plus the clutch, driveshaft and limited-slip diff have all been upgraded with heavier-duty components than the stock MG had.

It has high-back (heated!) Leather-covered bucket seats and matching leather was used to trim the rest of the custom interior. Unlike many conversions, the seating comfort, gear lever position and overall feel is conducive to comfortable driving—and it even has a quality convertible top plus a nice fiberglass hardtop comes with it!

Custom-fabricated and ceramic-coated headers breathe through Flowmaster silencers and down the dual pipes with a terrific-sounding rumble. The car really scoots, and to compliment all the added horsepower, cross-drilled oversized four-piston Wilwood disc brakes were added front & rear behind the 16” Panasport wheels.

The car is well-known, having passed through BAT in the past, plus it was featured in the British V8 publication in this link: http://www.britishv8.org/MG/kenbiermann.htm

The present owner has had his fun and is moving on to new projects, so the MGB hot rod is available for the next guy smart enough to not build one himself—this car is all done and available at a fraction of what it would cost to duplicate it.

If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see 'where the magic happens.' If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
