This is without doubt the best MGA we have seen in years—and it's not a freshly-done redo, but a beautiful example that has been in the second owner's care for over forty years. In the mid-1980s the car was stripped to bare metal and professionally refinished because she wanted it red instead of the original white, not because of damage or rust. The paint today is really incredible and a testament to the careful preparation and skill with which it was applied. Be sure to note that the fender piping was not painted over like it often is and it was an all-chrome-off job. (All the brightwork is very nice, too).

The interior was completely reupholstered in tan leather—not vinyl—that is still soft and lovely today. New black carpets were installed along with a matching convertible top that has rarely been up. The weather equipment includes a tonneau cover and excellent side curtains plus a quality car cover.

The original 1500cc engine was overhauled and installed with a new clutch and still runs quietly with proper oil pressure & temps. The owner has enjoyed the car on weekend jaunts and events with the MG Club that have only put on about 8000 miles since its refurbishment. Along with new 60-spoke wire wheels to replace the original 48-spokers, other upgrades included a luggage rack and custom wood dash with nice Kenwood stereo.

We have the original owner's book, some pictures of the car when stripped for paint and even a box of spare filters, shop manual and quarts of the oil always used. This car is a perfect example of why it's so wise to buy a really nice all-done example instead of a needy one that you'll spend more time and money trying to duplicate. This MGA is a fabulous find that will be a pleasure for the next owner to own.
