This is a great D-code 312 classic Ford Thunderbird with automatic, soft top & factory hardtop, plus power steering & added A/C. Fully restored some years ago in its original 'Starmist Blue,' the original engine was overhauled and runs great. The convertible top was replaced recently with a high-quality canvas—not vinyl—top in Navy Blue with a zip-out rear window, offering several comfortable modes of driving.

The A/C system used a vintage-look under-dash evaporator but has a modern Sankyo rotary compressor for better performance and less vibration. To further help out summertime cruising, the car has an oversize, thick-core aluminum radiator as well. We have a big file of service & maintenance history that goes back to the 1960s! The car is believed to have only 117K miles and just four previous owners. The long-term third owner commissioned an engine-out full restoration that is holding up very well, and apart from the A/C work, the car is completely authentic.

After residing in the Carolinas and Iowa most of its life, the car came to Colorado five years ago and has been such an active cruiser that about 10,000 miles have been added during that time on weekend trips in the mountains. Our shop has been maintaining the car all that time with regular care plus the expected age-related repairs to instruments, lights and suspension as needed.

'57 'Birds today comprise a handful of perfect show queens, a lot of beaters and even more ho-hum, spottily-maintained, amateurishly-restored Cars & Coffee drop-ins. It's rare to find a professionally-restored, great looking & running example that could be taken on a tour tomorrow under $40K!
