Welcome to our Farland Classic Electrics conversion of this 1966 Porsche 912. This 912 was an ideal 'Barn Find.' Our team located the car in a storage shed just north of us in Longmont, Colorado. The owner had loved the car for many years, but tucked it away in 1992. We completed the initial sale and brought the car to our shop. While it wasn't Concours perfect.. (check out those rear parcel speakers…). It was still a great place for us to get started.

Our expert mechanic got the air-cooled engine running, but we have decided that this is a perfect candidate for an electric powertrain swap. We are working with a group down in California called Electric GTE (link Electric GT - Electric Vehicle Systems and Components). While they were working their electric magic, the car returned from a Porsche expert who completed a new suspension to accommodate the weight of the battery packs. While we've gone back and forth with our friends at Electric GTE they have developed an electric crate motor and powerplant for the Porsche 911 and 912 chassis'.

We saw this as a great chance to be involved with the testing and application of this design. We did get a bit of Bodywork done to fix some rust and a new panel or two was repaired. Paint is complete and it's electric time. We installed the battery pack, wiring and motor setup, and had our first test drive. Now we are figuring out exact range, best operating procedures, and much more.
