Vehicle Details

Every car we restore tells a story. This one is extra special, as it’s the owner’s father’s car. And he’s restoring it so Dad can drive it again. Purchased new in Tucson, the family has owned it since day one. Also, in the photos, you’ll see a red donor Mustang. That car was Mom’s! We have stripped the car down and fully documented it.

Next was media blasting down to bare metal. Our metal experts repaired, replaced and crafted the body so it could receive a first coat of color matching primer. We then sprayed the bottom in factory-correct red oxide – even adding some overspray. Finally, we shot the final color of the car. Next was hours and hours of polishing.

The device that you see the Mustang on in early stages is called a rotisserie. Just like a roasting chicken, this classic Mustang restoration takes place on a spinning axis. That makes it much easier to access and work on all parts. It’s also why these are called ‘rotisserie’ restorations.

Our expert technician has been reassembling this American classic. Thousands of parts, all labeled correctly, will be put together like a giant puzzle. Extensive sound-deadening mat was installed on the interior. Also the ragtop has been installed. Assembly is nearly complete. Soon will be shakedown to make sure it’s running JUST right.
