We helped our customer bring home this 1966 Porsche 912 after spotting it in an online auction. With a little Porsche counseling, some smart bidding, and a good dose of patience, he won the auction — and the 912 soon arrived at our shop ready for its next chapter.

The plan was ambitious. The classic Porsche would undergo a complete restoration at our shop, followed by an electric conversion by our friends at Moment Motors in Austin, Texas.

We began the restoration the way we always do: carefully, methodically, and with plenty of documentation.

The car was completely disassembled, with every component photographed, cataloged, and evaluated along the way. We also documented the original engine in detail. It was running great, and the owner had the option of rebuilding it and keeping it with the car, or preserving it as-is for a future owner.

With the car stripped down, we could finally see what we were working with.

The next stage was paint removal and the beginning of the bodywork. And, as you might expect from a 57-year-old Porsche, there were a few surprises waiting underneath.

Our technicians uncovered the rust, repaired what needed repairing, and carefully worked through the rest of the body to bring the panels, seams, and metalwork back into proper shape.

This wasn't simply a matter of making the car look good. Every panel was carefully refined so the finished Porsche would have the clean, purposeful appearance these cars had when they were new.

This detailed restoration included a bespoke interior spec’d by our customer and brought to life by our skilled team.

Along the way, we also incorporated a few subtle custom touches, including refinements to the bumpers and other details.

It was a careful balance — preserving the character of the original 912 while giving the car a fresh, beautifully finished identity for its next life.
