If you’ve been following along you know Jack Farland and our team here at the shop have been leading the way with converting classic cars to electric drivetrains and battery packs. We have a handful of Porsche projects we are working on, but this V8 was ready for a new lease on life. This car was a great combination of our team’s restoration abilities, a touch of customer sentimentality, and a chance to look towards the future.
This 1967 Ford Mustang is an almost identical twin to this new owner’s first car: Blue over Blue, coupe from 1967. This was a great chance for our team to work with a new client and share our knowledge to help guide them towards the “best” chassis to start with. T get this unique project started, we documented, tagged and disassembled everything on the car. We removed the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and ordered the updated 173 Kit from Tremec Electric GT.
We also painted the car completely, to match the owner’s desires. It’s a very cool dark metallic blue that compliments the interior nicely.
Our fabrication pros mounted the motor, as well as the battery compartments. Then, they painted and fabricated the engine bay parts for a clean look. Since Mustangs of this era have not been electrified much, we did a one-off. That means that it was all custom work, versus 3D scanned parts, like we can do on a Porsche 911/912.
We had the classic electric mustang on the road to test the system, and then got to the final parts of assembly, shakedown and completion. Now it’s about to go home. Happy electric motoring, Mustang!

If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see ‘where the magic happens.’ If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
